Druid 2.0 Released

Druid 2.0 is has a ton of new feature and a highly improved interface. Asterisk stability has also been greatly improved and will offer a new level of scalability and speed.

- Improved Web GUI, faster and smoother

- Switched to Dahdi from Zaptel

- Full FAX support

- BLF enabled Groups

- Group faxing, Call groups and Group voicemail

- Sorting and Searching on all tables and grids in the web UI.

- New quick launch / status bar in user-portal

- Improved visual status status and usage graphs

- Added concept of users in addition to stations and extensions

Druid 2.0 is not in the repository as yet. It will be in a couple days, after which you can easily upgrade your existing Druid 1.3 installs. We have currently made the ISO available.


Voiceroute announces Druid 1.3 at OSCON 2008 - Unified Communications

Norwalk CT, 21 July 2008 - Voiceroute announces version 1.3 of Druid, the innovative open source unified communications platform for IP telephony, mobile, IM desktop and web application integration at OSCON 2008. Druid 1.3 includes several significant new features like the launch of Druid SOAP API, language internationalization support for German French and mobile bridging with auto-attendant functionality. Voiceroute will be demoing Druid at booth #221 in the OSCON 2008 exhibition hall from 23-24 July 2008.

New features of Druid include:

  • Druid SOAP API – the first Open SOAP interface framework for third party developers to develop feature rich unified communications applications based on top of Druid.

  • Mobile bridging with auto-attendant support - when receiving a mobile bridged call, you will be prompted to accept the call before taking the call. This is to prevent mobile provider voicemail from automatically answering the call, and forcing the use of Druid voicemail.

Druid is built on top of other proven open source projects such as Asterisk, Dojo toolkit (http://www.dojotoolkit.org), Dovecot and Jabber. Druid is a rich AJAX-based Unified Communications application that enable enterprises to easily deploy IP communications; plug and play IP telephony, unified mailbox (voicemails & faxes), mobile phone and instant messaging. Druid OSE 1.3.0 Released

The latest update to Druid OSE version 1.3.0 has been released in both CD and repository form. You can now download the latest version of the CD from the Download page.

Major Changes:

  • Updated distribution to CentOS 5.2
  • Druid SOAP API now formally released!
  • Mobile bridging behavior has been changed quite a bit. Now when receiving a mobile bridged call, you will be prompted to accept the call before taking the call. This is to prevent mobile provider voicemail from automatically answering the call, and forcing the use of Druid voicemail.
  • New language support:
    • German
    • French

Minor Changes:

  • Dial voicemail directly for any user using *99 + extension. You can also use to transfer callers to user's voicemail.
  • Fixed some issues with IAX trunking not configuring inbound and outbound properly
  • New command line tool for creating backup in tools directory: create_snapshot. Can use this in conjunction with your favorite cron daemon to schedule periodic backups.
  • Introductory integration of mISDN into Druid inbound and outbound dialing framework. mISDN still requires manual configuration of /etc/asterisk/misdn.conf; however, you can control routing and outbound dialing using Druid.
  • Other various bug fixes
